Higher homework for Thursday 3.12.09


Describe and give reasons for the changes in plant types likely to be observed across a typical sand dune transect as you move inland from the coast. You should refer to named plant species likely to be found growing at different sites and to influencing factors such as shelter, pH, water table and distance from the sea. You should also by now be familiar with the terms colonisation, pioneer species and climax vegetation and be utilising these in this answer. (16 marks)
